Sir Valor, Prince of Wails

Yes, we were discharged on Saturday afternoon. Saturday night sort of bled right into Sunday morning, as our little man spent most of the night screaming. After about 6am, things have been much more manageable.

Abby got a good nap today, and I’ve discovered that holding Valor in front of me while tiptoeing around bending my knees a lot is a thus-far 100% effective way to get him to stop crying and open his eyes and observe his surroundings. It’s so precious.

Abby should have a longer post up tomorrow. With more pictures!

  1. The subject line for this post totally made me LOL!! In all seriousness, tho, is it tummy cramps that’s making him unhappy?

Glad to read your foot is better, too!

  2. Such a beautiful family. The lord has blessed you. I hope the little man starts to become more comfortable in his home… good luck Mom & Dad… Dad glad to hear the foot is better! How is mom feeling?

  3. I found your site through Cake Wrecks. Thankful and rejoicing at your new little Valor. God bless your family abundantly, and thank you for sharing a part of your lives and most of all your incredible faith.

  4. Love the pictures. I am glad you are home. I am sorry Valor seems to be crying alot. If he keeps it up or has any of these symptoms: pulling his legs towards his chest, spitting up, and if it happens after he eats I would think about having him checked for reflux or silent reflux. 2 of my 3 had it and it was awful until we got it managed. Or it could be the poor thing is just a really gassy baby 🙁

Anyway, I hope he settles down for you and I can’t wait to see more pics 🙂

  5. He is ADORABLE! Abby looks fantastic for a woman who just had a c-section. The family shot made me so happy for you guys–very glad that you were all able to go home together. Also glad your foot is better; if it starts acting up again a lot of babies love being gently bounced by an adult sitting on a yoga ball. Just a thought in case you get sore again. Congratulations!

  6. Didn’t mean to set up a mystery about the wailing; Valor was wailing because he wanted something to EAT and we were waiting for Mommy’s milk to come in, which just happened on this evening’s last feed. He looked completely wiped out and content when we put him down after what Abby called a “game changing moment.”

  7. So nice to hear that you are already at home!
    What a blessing!
Valor is so beautiful!!!! And the family pic with the discharge news made my whole week, believe me.
Hahahha I just realized that you are right, that we didn’t ask for you toe… but now we know it’s OK. :p Sorry, but you are competing with a true knight!

    Love

  8. you guys are pretty much the cutest thing ever! hopefully i’ll be able to stop by before I leave for Arkansas on the 10th.

  9. I just finished reading through the entire emotional, beautiful, heartbreaking, healing story of sweet baby James about a week befor Valor’s birth. I was happy to be caught up and able to share in your joy this time around. How different to be discharged already and to get to learn about your new little persons. Blessings!

  10. Sounds like a regular day in the life of a newborn- he’s got a good eye and nose scrunch to his cry, but he’s really got to get that first tear in to break your heart. May God continue to bless all three of you, and of course, the super-grands!

  11. He is beautiful. Congratulations!!! I hope you are both back on your feet soon and ready for this. With naming a child Valor you have committed to a life of adventure!!!
