shot-blocking skills

Last night in bed I was telling Abby how I thought having a “normal” kid was going to mean every day new abilities demonstrated which would differentiate Valor from James, but that so far reality felt slower than expectation. To which Abby replied, “he’s three weeks old.”

However, today Valor added shot-blocking skills to his repertoire of sleeping skills, sucking skills, burping skills, and pooping skills.

Hard to tell if the second one is goaltending, but we’ll work on that.

  1. He is SO beautiful! I want to babysit for him! ๐Ÿ™‚

Over time, you’re definitely going to see a lot of differences in Valor’s development. Just give it time. ๐Ÿ™‚ Things change every day.

  2. Hello John, Abby, and Baby Valor!

I have followed your family since Jen’s post on Cake Wrecks about James’s birthday cake. Firstly I want to offer my congratulations on the birth of Valor! What a blessing he must be for the two of you! Secondly, I wanted to tell you that I thought of your family whilst toy shopping with my 3 year old the other day. I saw this playset at a local toy store in Tucson, and found the link so I could share it: http://smartmomma.com/HABA-Sun-Mansion-p-16422.html

I remembered seeing pictures of Valor’s nursery and smiled when I saw it. If I had the extra money I would have purchased it and set it to him myself! Just know that people you’ve never met are in your corner and pray for your family daily. I wish you guys all the best!

  3. I originally found your blog a couple of months ago through Cake Wrecks. I read Sweet Baby James from start to finish. I laughed and I cried. I am so thrilled with the arrival of your new son Valor and wish all of you only the best. You are in my thoughts and prayers. My friend has started a blog to keep us all up to date on her families struggles and successes with their first childs battle with an aggressive form of leukemia. He is only five months old. I keep thinking back to James and now Valor.

    Hugs,
    Jill

  4. Couldn’t help but notice he was swatting those shots away with his left hand and it reminded me of Ed Davis and how many shots he is going to block this year for the Heels. Looking forward to watching some of those with Valor.

  5. Wow, good hand-eye co-ordination! He is adorable, just as James was. I like the way he suddenly became fully alert when he realised he could move the mobile. ๐Ÿ™‚
