America the Beautiful, Part 1

When Valor saw me working on this puzzle a few weeks ago, he was confused, because he didn’t think he was expecting a brother or sister. (This is often—but not always—the pattern.) Occasionally I like building puzzles just for the joy of building puzzles, and for sharing that joy with the community of solvers who read this blog.

Independence Day is as good a day as any to publish this one, and my inspiration this time around was to write a puzzle that students of Classical Conversations Foundations (like Valor and Percy) might be able to help solve using some of their memorized grammar, especially from Cycle 3, which is starting again this fall. Not all the clues, of course, but some of them. Perhaps some Classical Conversations families could print it out and solve it as a family:

Wait a minute… is there a secret message?

  1. I am not a great solver of these magical, intelligent puzzles so I have to wait for the next post to hear the secret message. I am also not a great waiter… 🙂
